Three wins get Ticats minor football season started

The Hamilton Minor Football Association got its 2012 Central Ontario Minor Football League (COMFL) regular season off to a positive, winning all three division games against the Scarborough Thunder on Sunday (Aug. 19).

In the Atom (8-10 year old) division, the Jr. Ticats were 33-6 victors over Scarborough. The Pee Wees (11-12 year old) doubled the score on the Thunder, 24-12.

And in the Bantam (13-14 year old) Ticats completed the sweep with a 46-12 win.

Hamilton will host the Ajax/Pickering Dolphins on Sunday with the Atoms kicking off the slate of three games at 9:30 a.m. The Pee Wees follow at 11:30 a.m. and the Bantams wrap up the program with a 1:30 p.m. affair.

The home openers will be played at Mohawk Sports Park on the east Mountain. Admission is free.
