Is Hamilton sports history hiding in your closet?

Search your attic, garage, basement, and your closet to see if you have some Hamilton sports memorabilia that you would like to donate to the Hamilton Sports Hall of Fame for possible display or for the Hall’s reference library.

Of particular interest to the Hall are items relating to inductees; items relating to special events in Hamilton’s sports history (such as programs, photographs etc.); all material relating to Hamilton sports teams, past and present, such as programs or sports memorabilia.

Anyone with something they would like to donate, can contact Hamilton Sports Hall of Fame archivist Larry Robertson at lark@sympatico.ca or Garry McKay at garrymckay1@shaw.ca

Items donated to the Hall will become the property of the HSHOF and will be safely stored by Fluke Transport/Fox 40.

Recently donated artifacts include a referee’s jersey worn by Hamiltonian Bill Friday in the World Hockey Association and a game program from the 1925 Hamilton Tigers against the Montreal Canadiens.

The 2012 Hamilton Sports Hall of Fame induction dinner will be held at Carmen’s Banquet Centre on Tuesday, Sept. 25. Tickets can be purchased at Hutch’s on the Beach, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats office, United Trophy or through the Hall website at www.hamiltonsportshalloffame.com.
