The field had to deal with weather conditions that were cool with strong winds.
The Marauder team consisted of Jonathan Lam, who shot a 74 on the day, Greg Gabel (76), Mark Young (78), Jamie Cherutti (78), and Patrick Thornley (82).
McMaster’s team score of 306 was 11 shots better than second-place Wilfrid Laurier, with Ottawa University finishing third with a team score of 318.
Jonathan Lam tied for first for overall low score and had some comments about the event, “The conditions today were tough but I was just able to keep it together, gave it my best effort and was able to keep the number low enough. I’m finding ways to score – that’s the trick in golf, being able to score on good days and bad ones.”
The McMaster golfers will be at Queens on Sunday for the second event of the season.
