Marauders fail to break women’s soccer log jam

Waterloo – The McMaster women’s soccer team suffered just its second loss of the season to the No. 4 Laurier Golden Hawks by a score of 1-0.

After a scoreless first half, rookie midfielder Shelby Fallis (Pickering) netted the winner in the 75th minute of the Ontario University Athletics match.

The result left Mac with a record of 4-2-2 and the team’s 14 points has them in a three-way tie for second place with York and Western. Marauder Tara Dawdy (Burlington) was honoured as the MVP of the game and Emily Brown (Waterloo, Ont.) was named MVP for the Golden Hawks.

McMaster will look to get back on track as they take on the 1-6 Brock Badgers at Ron Joyce Stadium on Saturday (Sept. 29).
