Reilly nets two in Mac’s seventh soccer win

Waterloo – The McMaster Marauders men’s soccer team improved its Ontario University Athletics record to 7-1 by blanking the Golden Hawks, 3-0, at Laurier on Sunday afternoon (Sept. 23).

The two clubs battled through a scoreless first half. Paterson Farrell (Oakville) broke the ice with the eventual game winner at the 60th minute mark for his fifth goal of the season.

Forward Mark Reilly (Hamilton) scored twice to seal the deal for the Marauders in the 74th and 82nd minutes for his fifth and sixth goals of the season.

Second-year Gersi Xhuti (Etobicoke) had six shots on goal, but was unable to find the back of the net.

The West division’s second place Marauders will be hosts to the winless and 0-6 Brock Badgers on Saturday (Sept. 29).
