Fresh from his Olympic debut in the marathon, Coolsaet defended his title winning in 30:24.70 ahead of Rob Watson of Vancouver, B.C., (30:35.40) and Matt Brunsting of Guelph, who took bronze in 30:36.70.
The women’s race crowned a new champion as Brown won the title in 33:33.60. Lanni Marchant of London, Ont., and Natasha Fraser of Port Moody, B.C., took silver and bronze respectively in 34:08.30 and 34:29.80.
Brown also won the women’s individual 10-kilometre title with Sam Pawluk of Richmond, B.C., taking the men’s title in 31:07.90.
British Columbia won the overall provincial title as well as the men’s team championship with the women’s provincial title going to Ontario.
