Lions don’t scare Mountaineers

After relinquishing a 2-0 lead on Friday (Sept.28), and eventually losing, 3-2, to St. Clair, the Mohawk men’s soccer team bounced back in Sarnia the next day and downed the Lambton Lions, 2-1.

Mohawk is now 4-2 in the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association West Region, while Lambton fell to 1-4-1.

In women’s play, Mohawk drew 2-2 with Lambton, a day after their goalless game at St. Clair.

The Mountaineer women are now 2-2-2, while the Lions are 1-3-2.

The men’s and women’s teams resume league play on Tuesday (Oct. 2) when the Fanshawe Falcons visit the Mountaineers. The Fanshawe women are in third place, four points up on Mohawk.

The Fanshawe men are undefeated (4-0-1) for second place in the West division with 13 points, one more than Mohawk.
