Mohawk men run to third place

The Mohawk College men’s cross country team turned in a strong performance, finishing third overall at the Seneca King Invitational meet on Saturday (Sep. 29). Fanshawe won the team title.

Individually, Jessie Wilcox led the Mountaineer men over the eight-kilometre course, finishing ninth overall, in 26:06.

Other Mohawk men’s results included Kevin Patterson, 15th (27:06); Hassan Ishaq, 24th (27:51); Luc Seguin, 27th (28:20); Dan Namisniak, 49th (31:36); and Johnathan Gordon, 60th (34:56).

The Mohawk women finished seventh in their 5K race, won by Redeemer. Kassandra O’Reilly led the Mountaineers. She was 19th, timed in 20:37.

Other Mohawk results included Maria Nevelli, 29th (22:45); Sarah Bush, 36th (23:38); and Jessica Wilton, 45th (25:49).
