Ottawa – The McMaster fastball team had a .500 effort in four games this past weekend (Sept. 29-30) playing the Carleton Ravens and the Ottawa Gee-Gees in the Ontario Intercollegiate Women’s Fastpitch Association.
The Marauders took two games from the Ravens on Saturday but lost a pair to the Gee-Gees the next days in Ontario University Athletics action.
The outcome left McMaster with a 3-10 record and eighth place in the 10-team loop. Carleton is winless in 14 outings while the Gee-Gees are second place behind the Western Mustangs.
On Saturday, the Marauders won their second game of the season by a score of 12-4. Just two hours later in the second game of the doubleheader, the Marauders were 15-2 victors.
Unfortunately, that success did not carry over to Sunday’s games, as the Marauders were defeated by the Gee-Gees, 9-0 and 8-1.
Prior to heading to the nation’s capital, the Marauders fell, 7-0, to the Brock Badgers on Thursday. The Badgers are in fourth place with an 8-5 record.
Toronto Varsity Blues bring their 2-12 record to town on Friday (Oct. 5) for a doubleheader beginning at 5 p.m. The next day, the 6-8 Guelph Gryphons are in town for a twin-bill matinee beginning at 2 p.m. All games will be played at Mohawk Sports Park.
