Mountaineers winless in OCAA rugby

Two converts were the difference between Mohawk losing its third straight game and Sheridan winning its first game in four attempts, in Ontario Colleges Athletic Association men’s rugby in Oakville on Thursday (Oct. 4).

The Bruins topped the Mountaineers 19-15 at Sheridan’s Trafalgar campus.

Byron Martinez had two tries for Mohawk and Mark Sheridan had one.

On Wednesday, Sheridan defeated Mohawk, 22-10, in women’s play.

But the Mountaineers managed their first two tries of the season by Reyanna Sangestino and Kaitlyn Clark Robinson, a major boost for the second year team.

Just like their male counterparts, Mohawk slipped to 0-3, while Sheridan improved to 1-3.
