Gaddishaw rushes to OFC player award

Hamilton Hurricanes rookie running back Jurrell Gaddishaw is this week’s Ontario Football Conference Offensive Player of the Week.

A product of the Sir Winston Churchill Secondary School Bulldogs in St. Catharines, Gaddishaw played a crucial role in the Hurricanes 36-28 semi-final win over the Ottawa Sooners on Saturday night.

The former Bulldog had a huge day rushing with 188 yards and two touchdowns on 32 carries. The first-year player helped lead a ‘Canes offense that had 420 total yards on the night.

He will look to help the Hurricanes win their third consecutive OFC title when they travel to London to play the Beefeaters. The OFC final is set for 8 p.m. on Saturday night at TD Waterhouse Stadium in London.
