Mohawk runners respectable at Humber

It was a good day’s run for several Mohawk cross country athletes at the Humber Invitational on Saturday (Oct. 13).

In the women’s 5-kilometre event, Kassandra O’Reilly was 15th in 20:43. Other Mohawk results included Maria Novelli, 32nd (22:54); Sarah Bush, 42nd (25:17); and Jessica Walton, 44th (25:22).

Liz Seguin of George Brown won the race.

In the women’s team event, Humber was first and Mohawk was eighth.

Mohawk was fifth in the men’s team event won by Fanshawe.

The top Mountaineer male over the 8k course was Jessie Wilcox, who finished 12th, clocked in 25:40. Other Mohawk men’s results included Kevins Patterson, 22nd (26:58); Hassan Ishaq, 25th (27:15); Bradley Wilcox, 28th (27:19); John Miles, 29th (27:24); Luc Seguin, 35th (27:52); Dan Namisniak, 51st (30:22); and Johnathan Gordon, 66th (33:19).

Riley Olesky of Peterborough Fleming was the race winner in 24:30.
