Mandy Hsieh ensured McMaster a home playoff game in Ontario University Athletics women’s soccer when her first goal as a Marauder gave the visitors a 3-2 win over the Windsor Lancers on Saturday (Oct. 20).
McMaster’s regular season ends Sunday (Oct. 21) when the fourth place Marauders visit the second place Western Mustangs in London.
Mac has a 9-4-2 record while Western is 10-3-2.
Veteran Tara Dawdy (Burlington) continued her most successful season as a Marauders, scoring her seventh and eighth goals in the first half of the game. Her first came in the 19th minute and she would put another shot through the posts in the 34th minute of the match.
Dawdy’s eight goals place her in the top ten scorers in the OUA.
In the second half, the Lancers rebounded when Bridget Jeffray twice beat goal keeper Jocelyn Wilkins (London) twice. The first goal came in the 53rd minute and the second 13 minutes later.
All tied up at two, it would take until the final minute of the game for Hsieh (Toronto) to kick home the winner.
