The Marauder football team held its No. 1 in football as they head into the post-season. With a perfect 8-0 record, the Marauders have held the top position all season long. They have earned a first round bye in the post season and play again on Nov. 3 at Ron Joyce Stadium.
They will have home field advantage throughout the playoffs.
In the cross country rankings, the women’s and men’s teams remain in their respective rankings as they prepare for the Ontario University Athletics championships this weekend in Toronto. After a successful season, the women hold their ranking at No. 2, just below the strong Guelph Gryphons team, and the men will remain at No. 6. York hosts the Championships and then the Marauders will move on to compete at the CIS Championships in London, hosted by Western.
The McMaster men’s volleyball team captured its first win of the season on Saturday over the York Lions and they move up one spot from last week to No. 3. Just behind Alberta and Trinity Western, the Marauders will look to continue their winning ways as they take on the Queen’s Gaels and the RMC Paladins on the weekend.
Finally, the men’s soccer team at McMaster moved up in their rankings as well, from No. 5 to No. 4. They finished their regular season with a 12-1-3 record and a second place finishing in the OUA West, behind No. 1 York.
They head into the post season with a bye in the first round and will await their opponent for the OUA quarter-finals on Sunday at 7 p.m.
McMaster’s women’s rugby team and women’s soccer team also received top ten votes this week.
