St. Lawrence Vikings of Kingston downed Mohawk Mountaineers, 59-39, on Friday (Oct. 26) in the final tuneup for the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association women’s basketball season.
Daniella Randazzo and Careena Browne led Mohawk with six points each. “(The Vikings) were a great team to play against as they were athletic and physical and they made us work hard at both ends of the court,” said Mountaineer head coach Kevin Duffy.
“We ran everybody in, to give all our players valuable game experience before the season opener Tuesday (Oct. 30) versus Niagara.”
“The exhibition season was a great evaluation for our team, but we are all looking forward to Tuesday when the games count for real. Hopefully we can get off to a great start and build some momentum for the early part of the schedule.”
