The Mohawk women’s basketball team opened the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association regular season on a victorious note. They downed the Niagara Knights, 65-52, at the Fennell Gymnasium on Tuesday (Oct. 30).

The Knights got the score to 32-19 by half time and started the second half strong, before the Mountaineers regrouped to take the win.

Careena Browne led Mohawk with 19 points. Cassie Brown scored 14, Lacey Wolters had 13 and Katelyn Arbour added seven points and 11 rebounds.

Lauren Brew was tops for Niagara with 11 points and nine rebounds. Allana Arundell and Kate Montgomery scored 10 points apiece.
