The team had a successful season on the field as they defeated the Queen’s Gaels for the first time in team history and had a winning season.
At the OUA championships, Yee, head coach of the Marauders, led her team to a sixth place finish. They would split the weekend matches and go 2-2. For her efforts and hard work, Yee won her first OUA Coach of the Year award.
“I am shocked and completely honoured by this award. I am proud of my team for the 2012 season and look forward to what’s in store in the future,” said Yee.
Two Marauders were also named to the lacrosse all-star team on the same day. Fifth-year veteran Jackie Heaton (Peterborough) earned the All-Star nod at midfield. The Life Sciences major was the women’s lacrosse MVP last season.
Julie Marquardt (Whitby) also made the team. The fourth-year was one of three defenders named to the All-Star team.
