Mohawk rugby had consistent season

Mohawk’s men’s and women’s rugby teams had a difficult season as both finished with 0-6 records in Ontario Colleges Athletic Association play.

The Mountaineers, who were rained out with Conestoga the previous weekend, rescheduled the games for McMaster University on Tuesday (Oct. 30) and the Condors scored a pair of solid victories.

The Conestoga women romped 43-5. Akiesha Davidson scored the lone try for Mohawk.

Candace Scholten had a try and four converts and Rowan Benning had two tries for the Condors, who finished third in the West Region and must play a cross over game with St. Lawrence Kingston November 3, hoping to advance to the OCAA semi finals.

The Conestoga men, 32-0 victors over the Mountaineers, finished second, and will play Algonquin in a cross over game Nov. 3, looking for an OCAA semi final berth.

In their win over Mohawk, Greg Dawkins scored a pair of tries.
