Hamilton Bulldogs have recalled defenceman Joe from the Wheeling Nailers of the East Coast Hockey League.
Stejskal, 24, has played nine games for the Nailers this season registering one assist and two penalty minutes. The native of Grand Rapids, Michigan played 55 games for the American Hockey League Bulldogs last season, recording three assists and 26 penalty minutes.
Over two seasons in the AHL with Hamilton, Stejskal posted three assists and 26 penalty minutes in 62 regular-season games while registering one goal in five post-season games.
He played four seasons for Dartmouth College of the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference where he recorded 32 points (15 goals, 17 assists) and 162 penalty minutes in 126 regular-season games. The 6’3”, 208-pound defenceman was named an ECAC Third-Team All-Star in 2010-11 while being named to the ECAC All-Academic Team in 2008-09.
Stejskal was originally selected by the National Hockey League’s Montreal Canadiens in the fifth round, 133rd overall in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.
The Bulldogs’ next game is Wednesday (Nov. 7) at 7:30 p.m. against the Syracuse Crunch at Copps Coliseum.
