Toronto – After putting together back-to-back wins, the McMaster women’s volleyball team has ended up with back-to-back defeats after a weekend of Ontario University Athletics play.
The Marauders followed up Saturday’s 3-1 loss to Ryerson Rams with a similar setback on Sunday to the Toronto Varsity Blues.
McMaster dropped the opening set, 20-25, but rebounded with a 25-18 win in the second set. Toronto took the third set, 25-27, and the fourth set, 25-23, for the 3-1 match victory.
McMaster had a better kill percentage three of the four sets, but Toronto’s Charlotte Sider (Ottawa) was the difference as she had 20 kills and 24 digs. Jennifer Neilson (Port Coquitlam, B.C.) also hit double digit points with 13 kills and another two aces for 15 points.
Marauder Kailee Stock (Newmarket) had 13 kills and added three aces while Lauren Skelly (Whitby) recorded nine kills for the visitors. Libero Meagan Nederveen (Dundas) had a game-high 30 digs.
