Mohawk College placed eighth in a field of 24 men’s teams at the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association Cross Country Championships in Longueil, Quebec on Saturday (Nov. 10).

Fanshawe finished first on a course at Michel Chartrand Park. Champlain College of St. Lambert Quebec was host for the championships.
Individually, Jessie Wilcox led the Mohawk contingent of six runners, finishing the eight-kilometre course in 27:38, for 34th place, in a field of 137.
Other Mohawk results were: Bradley Wilcox (44), 28:22; Kevin Patterson (50), 28:28; Luc Seguin (65), 28:55; Hassan Ishaq (71), 29:02; and John Miles (78), 29:17.
Andrew deGroot of St. Clair won the race in 24:54, which was 47 seconds ahead of Clint Smith of Fanshawe.
Mohawk was not represented in the women’s five-kilometre competition, which was won by Grant MacEwan University of Edmonton. Toronto’s Humber College was the leading Ontario team finishing third.
Frederique Latraverse of Sainte-Foy Quebec won the individual title in a field of 136. The top Ontario Colleges Athletic Association runner was Rachelle Moore of St. Lawrence-Kingston. She finished 11th.
Humber will host the 2013 CCAA championships.
