The Mohawk men’s basketball team upped its record to 6-1, with a 75-47 win over the Ancaster Redeemer Royals at Mohawk’s Fennell Gym on Wednesday (Nov. 21).
Mohawk outscored the visitors 19-2 in the first quarter of the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association contest and although Redeemer matched the home side’s 17-point second quarter scoring, the Mountaineers were in good shape leading 36-19 at the half.
Andrew Cicuttini had 14 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Mohawk attack, Taylor Dowhaniuk had 13 points plus14 boards and Alex Reis contributed 12 points.
Calvin Turnbull was Redeemer’s top scorer with 15 points. The Royals record fell to 3-6.
