Marauders remain unbeaten in volleyball

Windsor – The visiting McMaster Marauders extended their Ontario University Athletics unbeaten streak in men’s volleyball to eight games after turning back the Windsor Lancers in four sets on Saturday (Nov. 24).

Ranked No. 3 in the country, Mac took the match 19-25, 25-9, 25-20, 25-21.

Stephen Maar led all players with 15 kills and 19 points for the victorious Marauders. Other McMaster players to hit double digits included Jayson McCarthy with 10 kills and 3 blocks, Kevin Stevens with 11 kills and a block and middle Dany Demyanenko with 6 kills, 4 blocks and an ace.

Kyle Williamson picked up 12 kills and a team-high 15 points for the 2-5 Lancers.
Adam Thompson also contributed nine kills and two blocks, while Andrew Chelladurai had 35 set assists for the Lancers, who managed a .128 hit percentage.

The Marauders worked at a .320 efficiency, and totalled 43 digs compared to 29 from Windsor.

McMaster is scheduled to play the Western Mustangs in London on Sunday (Nov. 25). Western holds a 6-1 record.
