McMaster’s men’s volleyball team moved into the No. 2 spot this week in Canadian Interuniversity Sport Top Ten and the swimming teams maintained rankings in the top ten as well.
The Marauders volleyball team finished the first half of the season undefeated. After big wins over the weekend against the Windsor Lancers and the Western Mustangs, the Marauders record showed no team had taken them to five sets.
Previously pegged at No. 3, the Marauders were able to jump a position thanks in large part to their 9-0 record in Ontario University Athletics play. Mac is the only squad in the ten team to take an undefeated mark into the mid-season break.
The Marauders resume their season against the Toronto Varsity Blues on Jan. 11.
Both McMaster swim teams find themselves in the No. 7 spots in the CIS pecking order.
At the University Challenge Cup in Toronto this past weekend, McMaster’s women’s team finished second overall and the men took third place.
McMaster also had excellent showings at the Canada Cup. Both teams are the second highest ranked OUA teams in the national ratings, behind Toronto.
