Mohawk enters break with a win

The Mohawk men’s basketball team completed first semester play improving their Ontario Colleges Athletic Association West Region record to 8-2, with a 92-68 victory over the St. Clair Saints on Saturday (Dec. 1) at the Fennell Gym. Mohawk led 52-31 at the half.

Mohawk is third in the West Division.

Manny Campbell had 19 points and six assists to lead the Mountaineers. Andrew Cicuttini scored 15 and added 11 rebounds, while Alex Reis had 14 points and six assists. The Saints got 14 points from Jeleni Ashaki-Mahluli. Jacob Sauve collected 11 points and David Younan had a game high 12 rebounds.

With the loss, St. Clair fell to 3-6.

Mohawk resumes league play Jan. 16 in London against the 8-1 Fanshawe Falcons.
