Oakville native Will Coulthard tied or set three Laurier Golden Hawks school records in Saturday’s 93-84 setback to the McMaster Marauders to take the Male Athlete of the Week award. He tied the record for points in a game with 39 and field goals made in a game with 14, both also held by Kale Harrison. He also set a record for most field goal attempts – 35 – breaking Harrison’s record by eight attempts. Coulthard also added 15 points, five rebounds, three steals and two2 assists in Thursday’s 93-73 loss to Windsor.

The female recipient is Sasha Polischuk of the Laurentian Voyageurs. The Richmond, B.C., native led the Laurentian Lady Vees to a 61-57 basketball upset over the Carleton Ravens on Friday evening. The fifth-year forward sunk 34 points and posted nine rebounds in the victory over the No. 5-ranked Ravens.

Polischuk continued to dominate the boxscore on Saturday against the Ottawa Gee-Gees. She recorded an unconventional double-double performance, knocking down 21 points while amassing 10 steals in the 58-48 loss. Polischuk leads the OUA in scoring with 21.0 points per game and sits fourth in CIS.
