Burlington’s Nexxice qualifies for world synchros


Skate-Canada-logoCanada qualified two junior synchronized skating teams to the 2013 ISU World Junior Synchronized Skating Championships. Nexxice from the Burlington Skating Club won the qualifier with a total of 133.64 points and Les Suprêmes from CPA Saint-Leonard took second spot to also earn a berth at the world juniors with 127.37.

The qualifier was held at the Iceland arena in Mississauga from Jan. 4-6 in conjunction with Skate Canada Central Ontario’s annual Winterfest competition.

Nexxice and Les Suprêmes will represent Canada at the 2013 ISU World Junior Synchronized Skating Championships in Helsinki, Finland, from March 8-9. Both teams competed at the event in 2012; Les Suprêmes won the bronze medal and Nexxice placed sixth.
