Bulldogs feel the Heat again

bulldogsAbbotsford, B.C.– For the second time in as many nights, the Abbotsford Heat defeated the Hamilton Bulldogs in an American Hockey League contest. Wednesday’s 2-1 setback for the Bulldogs was delivered via a shootout when Tyler Ruegsegger scored the decisive goal.

Abbotsford used a power-play goal at 12:55 of the opening period to go on the offensive. Dustin Sylvester snapped a shot over goaltender Cedrick Desjardins.

After a scoreless second period, Hamilton tied the affair two minutes into the final period. When Philippe Lefebvre’s got his first tally of the season. Alexander Avtsin came into the zone on the right side and took a shot which was stopped by goaltender Danny Taylor. Lefebvre picked up the rebound and deposited it into the net.

After nothing was solved in overtime, the two teams participated in a shootout, with the Heat outscoring the Bulldogs, 3-2.

The ‘Dogs edged the heat 29-28 in shots.

The Bulldogs’ next game is against the Toronto Marlies at Copps Coliseum on Saturday, Jan. 19 at 7 p.m.
