Mac teams hold steady in CIS ranks

McMasterVery little changed for those Marauder teams listed in Canadian Interuniversity Sports top ten lists this week. Only the women’s swim team experienced any movement, going from No. 9 to No. 8, while McMaster’s men’s volleyball, men’s and women’s wrestling teams and men’s swimming team stayed put.

The Marauder men’s volleyball team holds steady at no. 2 in the country, after another successful weekend saw it extend its perfect conference record to 13-0 with wins over the No. 10 Waterloo Warriors and the Guelph Gryphons.

McMaster’s wrestlers remained at No. 2 and No. 9 for the men and women respectively after their weekend competition at the Guelph Invitational on Sunday. Sophomore Andrew Balach led the Marauders with a third-placed finish in the 96-kilogram weight class as the McMaster men continued to impress.

The Marauder swim teams continued preparations for the upcoming Ontario University Athletics championships by hosting a dual meet against the Ottawa Gee-Gees on Friday.
