Dumont replaces teammate in AHL all-star game

bulldogsHamilton Bulldogs forward Gabriel Dumont has been named to the 2013 Western Conference American Hockey League All-Star team. The AHL All-Star Classic will be played in Providence, Rhode Island on Jan. 27-28.

He replaces forward Brendan Gallagher, who was originally selected to represent the Bulldogs but is unable to compete as he is on recall with the parent NHL’s Montreal Canadiens.

Dumont, 22, currently leads the Bulldogs in points with 23 (12 goals, 11 assists) while also pacing the team in goals and assists. The native of Ville Degelis, Quebec currently has 12 points (7 goals, 5 assists) in his past 12 games including a career-high five points (3 goals, 2 assists) during a 6-3 win over the St. John’s IceCaps on Dec. 28.
