The National Hockey League’s Canadiens, parents to the American Hockey League’s Bulldogs, reassigned Blunden, who has been recalled twice by Montreal this season.
Blunden played 37 games for the Bulldogs this season, registering seven goals and assists each along with 64 penalty minutes. The 26-year-old Toronto native played 39 games for the Canadiens in 2011-12 and had two goals, two assists, and 27 penalty minutes. In 90 games over six seasons in the NHL, he has totaled four goals, four assists and 96 penalty minutes.
In 17 games during the 2011-12 season for the Bulldogs, the six-foot-four, 214-pound forward recorded eight points (3-5) and 26 penalty minutes.
Blunden’s 294 games in the AHL have produced 62 goals, 80 assists, and 370 penalty minutes.
