Mountaineers tumble in volleyball

MohawkNot a good night for Mohawk’s volleyball teams when they visited the Sheridan Bruins for Ontario Colleges Athletic Association action on Friday (Feb. 1).

The Mountaineer women lost 3-1 for a fifth loss in a row that let their record slip to 6-9. Sheridan improved top 8-7. Mohawk is in seventh place in the West Division, two back of Redeemer and Niagara.

In the men’s match, the Bruins won 3-2 to go to 10-5 while the Mountaineers fell to 8-7. Mohawk sits in sixth place in the West Division, four back of Sheridan. In points – 20- Sheridan is tied with Nipissing and Humber while Redeemer and Niagara top the division with 24 points.

Both Mohawks teams visit Niagara on Thursday (Feb. 7).
