Grand Rapids, Michigan – A two-goal effort from Tomas Jurco lifted the Grand Rapids Griffins to a 2-1 win over the Hamilton Bulldogs in an American Hockey League game on Friday (March 8). Petr Mrazek stopped 30 shots for the victory.
After Jurco opened the scoring at 13:43 of the first period, the Bulldogs pulled even when Joey Tenute collected his fifth goal of the season – and third in four games – just under four minutes into the sandwich frame. Jurco’s goal ended netminder Dustin’s Tokarski’s shutout streak at 161 minutes and 2 seconds.
Tenute also extended his point streak to five games, which is a Bulldogs season-high.
Grand Rapids winning goal came at 9:12 of the third period when Jurco notched his 10th of the campaign.
The Bulldogs’ next game is against the Peoria Rivermen at Copps Coliseum on Saturday (March 9) at 7 p.m.
