Injury cuts short Geoffrion’s career

bulldogsMontreal Canadiens and Hamilton Bulldogs forward Blake Geoffrion has notified team officials that in light of his health condition he felt it was his responsibility to inform the Canadiens’ management that he was considering retiring from professional hockey.

Geoffrion said his condition has shown no significant improvement since he underwent surgery last Nov. 10.

The 25-year-old player suffered a depressed skull fracture on Nov. 9, 2012 in an American Hockey League game between the Bulldogs and the Syracuse Crunch, at the Bell Centre in Montreal.
