Hudon’s first goal saves Bulldogs

bulldogsWith 25 seconds remaining in regulation time, rookie Charles Hudon picked up his first American Hockey League goal to give the visiting Hamilton Bulldogs a 2-1 decision over the Texas Stars on Saturday night (April 6).

Patrick Holland picked up two assists and Dustin Tokarski stopped 29 shots for the win.

After a scoreless first period, the Stars scored on a power-play goal by Travis Morin. The puck was bouncing around in the crease and Morin tapped it in past Tokarski.

The Bulldogs tied the score at 13:44 of the third stanza as Holland knocked in his own rebound past goaltender Cristopher Nilstorp. Hamilton’s winning counter came as Hudon picked up a rebound and put the puck behind Nilstorp.

Hudon, who is the youngest player currently playing in the AHL, notched his first professional goal in his second professional game.

The Stars outshot the Bulldogs 30-22 to end the game.
