The Transway Bantam Girls team claimed a silver medal at the recent Buffalo Jamfest 2013, their first US tournament of the summer season, in Niagara Falls, N.Y.
In addition to being the youngest team (Grade 7) in the Grade 8 division, the girls were also missing one of their top defenders, Jaiya Morphet, due to injury. However, the Transway girls battled hard and emerged victorious against three other opponents against one loss in round robin play to make it to the championship game.
