Bandits left empty handed

ibl logoThe visiting Brantford Red Sox are red hot after winning their eighth straight game, downing the Burlington Bandits, 5-0, at Nelson Park on Saturday (June 8) in Intercounty Baseball League play.

Brantford starter Chris Chavez (2-0) earned the win, allowing five hits with six strikeouts over seven scoreless innings.

Hyung Cho and Scott Thorman both homered for the Red Sox (13-2), while Lee Delfino singled twice and scored a run. Josh McCurdy and Tyler Patzalek each singled and scored, while Terrell Alliman, Tyler Moe and Tyler Burnell each singled with Burnell adding an RBI.

Bandits starter Matthew St. Kitts took the loss, allowing six hits and four runs – two earned – with three runs and one walk over 7 1/3 innings pitched.

Daniel Peake had a pair of hits, while Tyler Fata doubled in his debut with the Bandits (2-8). Nick Studer, Peter Bako and Phil Steer each added a single in the loss.
