The breakthrough took time, but once the Marauders found it, they held on for a crucial three points.
McMaster’s women’s soccer team picked up its first win of the young Ontario University Athletics season on Saturday (Sept. 7), at the expense of the Waterloo Warriors. The Marauders made their mark in the 85th minute, when first-year forward Taylor Lambert got on the end of a free kick and headed home for the game’s only goal.
The Marauders tightened defensively and kept the Warriors off the scoreboard to move their record to 1-1-1 through three conference games.
McMaster continues its weekend road trip tomorrow, when the Marauders travel to St. Catharines to battle the Brock Badgers (0-1-2). That Sunday afternoon clash will kickoff at 1 p.m.
