Only a month after the Varsity Hamilton Hurricanes won the Ontario Football Conference Provincial Championship in the teams inaugural year, the organization has been rewarded again.
The Ontario Football Alliance announced that Hurricanes’ head coach Rob Underhill will be the defensive coordinator and Rob Fuciarelli, the ’Canes offensive coordinator will have that role for the 2014 Under-19 Ontario Selects Team.
And Hurricanes assistant coach Nick Henderson will be the defensive line coach for the U15 Selects.

The teams will head down to Arlington, Texas on Feb. 1 to face some very talented U.S. all-star teams. The venue will showcase some of the top football talent from North America and will be a great opportunity for a handful of local players.
“We are extremely honoured for the opportunity to compete Internationally” said Underhill. “This is exciting news for our Hurricane organization and family.”
Underhill was the defensive coordinator for the 2013 U17 staff that beat USA, 20-19, in dramatic fashion. Coaches Fuciarelli and Henderson have both previously been on Team Ontario coaching staffs and should transition seamlessly within their newly acquired roles.
“Hamilton has undeniably become a hot bed for developing football players” said Fuciarelli, “There is no reason why there should not be a solid representation of Hamilton and surrounding area players on the roster.”
Tryouts for the Select Team will be held at Players Paradise in Stoney Creek on Dec. 7.
