Redeemer’s women rewarded for strong x-country start

Following two podium finishes in the first two races of the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association season, the Redeemer Royals women’s cross country team was rewarded this week with a top 15 ranking in Canada. The Lady Royals settled in at No. 11, which is third best in Ontario.

The Royals landed on the podium at the Fanshawe Invitational on Sept. 21 when they finished second overall as a team. A week later on their home course, the Royals grabbed third place as a team.

Humber College (No.3), and Sault College (No.6), are the only other Ontario teams sitting above Redeemer in the rankings.

The Lady Royals could improve their position this weekend when they tackle a new course at Humber College. This weekend’s invitational will give the Royals another look at where they stand as the Humber College course is the site of this year’s 2013 Canadian Colleges Athletic Association national championships.
