Mohawk College turned in another solid effort in its final tune-up for the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association cross country championships.
The Mohawk men finished fourth in the team competition which was won by Fanshawe, at the Humber Invitational Meet on Saturday (Oct. 5).
Clint Smith of Fanshawe won the individual title, covering the eight kilometres course in 26:33.
Mohawk’s top runner was Jessie Wilcox, who finished seventh in 27:55. Kevin Patterson wasn’t far behind in 28:28, good for 12th place.

In the women’s 5K event, Mohawk’s Aimee Large finished 13th in 21:55, Ashley Dewitt was 24th in 22:34 and Kassandra O’Reilly finished 31st in 23:08.
The race was won by Courtney Brohart of St. Lawrence Kingston. She was clocked in 20:17.
St. Clair won the women’s team title. Mohawk did not have enough runners to count in the team competition.
The OCAA championships are scheduled for Ancaster on Oct. 26.
