Porscha Hewitt scored 16 points and was named to the tournament all-star team, along with teammate Stef Hrymak.

“We set the tone right from the start,” said Mountaineers’ head coach Kevin Duffy. “Our trapping defense led to easy offense and we never gave them an opportunity to get into a rhythm. We can play with a lot of pace, because we are so deep and lose nothing when we substitute.

“This was a great weekend for us overall and gives us a lot of momentum going into the season opener.”

Mohawk will host the Redeemer Royals to open the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association regular season Wednesday (Oct. 23) at 6 p.m. at the new David Braley Athletic and Recreation Centre.
