UTICA, N.Y. – After building a three-goal lead, the Hamilton Bulldogs held on for a 3-2 decision over the Utica Comets in an American Hockey League game on Saturday night (Oct. 26).
In picking up their third straight win after a trio of losses, the Bulldogs improved to 4-1-0-2 while the Comets remain winless with a 0-5-0-1 record.
Hamilton goal goals from Maxime Macenauer, Louis Leblanc, and Akim Aliu. Macenauer and Aliu had two point nights for Hamilton.
Hamilton had taken a 3-0 lead into the final period when Utica defenceman Peter Andersson and forward Colin Stuart brought the hosts to within a goal.
Dustin Tokarski made 31 saves for Hamilton while his counterpart, Joacim Eriksson, stopped 21 of 24 shots.
Hamilton’s next game is scheduled for Sunday (Oct. 27), when the Toronto Marlies (AHL Affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs) visit Copps Coliseum at 3 p.m.
Also on Saturday the Montreal Canadiens returned defencemen Greg Pateryn and Nathan Beaulieu, and forward Patrick Holland to the Bulldogs.
Pateryn was recalled by Montreal from Hamilton on Wednesday (Oct. 23), but did not dress for the National Hockey League team.
Beaulieu, 20, has appeared in one game with Hamilton this season, recording no points and two penalty minutes. He has also played five games with Montreal this season, recording one assist and no penalty minutes.
Holland, 21, has appeared in four games with Hamilton this season, recording two points (one goal, one assist) and no penalty minutes. The Lethbridge, Alberta native has also played three games with Montreal this season, recording no points and no penalty minutes.
