Dundas loses in the blink of an eye

165px-Dundas_Real_McCoysDUNDAS—Two goals in the span of 19 seconds spelled the difference between winning and losing for the Real McCoys as they fell 3-1 to the Brantford Blast in the Allan Cup Hockey home opener for Dundas before a near capacity house Friday (Nov. 15) in the JL Grightmire Arena.

Brantford moved into first place in the ACH with a record of four wins, and no losses. Whitby holds second with a 3-1-0 record and new entry Stoney Creek is third with a 2-2-0 start. Dundas is winless in two starts.

Shawn Snider gave Dundas the early lead with a powerplay goal at 17:17 of the first period with Ryan Watson and Scott Mifsud assisting. That lead stood up until Chris Leveille scored at 7:20 of the middle period followed by Chris Rebernik with the eventual game-winner 19 seconds later. Jamie Williams ensured the victory when he scored at 8:55 of the third. Leveille had a goal and assist while teammate Mark Taylor drew two assists.

Next action for the McCoys is Friday (Nov. 22) when they entertain the Stoney Creek Generals at 7:30 p.m. in the Grightmire Arena. The club then travels to Norwood to play the Vipers on Sunday (Nov. 24) in the Asphodel-Norwood Arena at 6:30 p.m.
