Lady Royals strong on home court

The Redeemer Lady Royals defeated the Niagara Knights 3-1 on Wednesday night (Nov. 20) to run their Ontario Colleges Athletic Association record to 4-2 on the season. Set scores were 25-14, 25-19, 22-25, 25-13. Three of the Royals wins have been on home court.

The Royals controlled the run of play for most of the night winning big in the first set and the third.

Curtiss Straatsma led the Royals in points with 11 kills and four aces. Straatsma also added 13 digs. Charlene De Vries added eight points and three blocks. Kimberly Stewart had 22 assists in the match for the Royals.

Madison Morgan led the Knights with 10 kills.

The Knights’ record is 4-3.

The Royals are right back at it again on Friday (Nov. 22) when they travel to Fanshawe College in London for an important mid-season match.
