It wasn’t the result they were looking for heading into the Christmas Break, but the injury plagued Redeemer Royals put in a tough effort against the Sheridan Bruins on Friday night (Nov. 29).
Playing with a short bench, Redeemer dropped the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association game 84-70. Lindsay Moffatt’s 26 points led all scorers on a night where the bounces did not seem to go Redeemer’s way. For Redeemer, Arica Price added 20 points, with four assists, while Rebekah Couperus had 13 points and four assists. Samantha Donald had 12 rebounds
Redeemer led the game in the second quarter with the score 33-30 but a 10-0 run put the Bruins up for good. Redeemer went into the half trailing by only five but Sheridan started to pull away in the third quarter backed by a 13-5 run.
Redeemer enters the break with a record of 3-6. Sheridan improves to 5-3.
