After withstanding a grueling, five-set match against the Waterloo Warriors on Friday (Nov. 29), the Marauder men’s volleyball team dispatched the Guelph Gryphons the next day in a sweep to conclude the first half of its Ontario University Athletics schedule with a perfect 10-0 record. McMaster sits four points clear of its nearest competitor in the conference standings, having played every team in the division once.

The Marauders will head to St. Petersburg, Florida for a holiday tournament, before returning to conference play on Jan. 10, when they host the Western Mustangs at the Burridge Gym.

The Marauder men’s basketball team won its fourth consecutive game on Saturday, and will spend the holidays atop the OUA West standings with a record of 7-3. McMaster handily beat the Guelph Gryphons 89-64 on Wednesday (Nov. 27), before travelling to London and dispatching the Western Mustangs by a 30-point margin on Saturday.

McMaster returns to conference play on Jan. 8, when the Marauders travel to St. Catharines to meet the Brock Badgers.

In the pool, the Marauder men’s swimming team moved down one place in the CIS poll after a week away from competition. McMaster was ranked fifth a week ago, but will spend the holidays at No. 6. The Marauders return to action on Jan. 12, when they travel to Toronto for a dual meet against the Varsity Blues.
