Transway bantams make it a three-peat


The Transway Bantam girls basketball team kicked off the 2013-14 season with a gold medal at its first tournament this past weekend. (Nov. 29 – Dec. 1)

The team travelled to the Hoopdome in Downsview for the Platinum (AAA) division of the Scarborough Basketball Association’s U13 Tournament and returned home with a clean 5-0 record.

Transway scored victories over Hamilton, York, Scarborough, Oakville, and Toronto. The girls gained momentum with each game and every player contributed offensively and defensively throughout the weekend. The team claimed its third consecutive gold medal at this annual tournament.

Players for the Transway bantam team come from Ancaster, Dundas, Stoney Creek, Hamilton Mountain, and Burlington.
