Defenceman Myles Harvey has been signed to a professional try out contract by the Hamilton Bulldogs.
Harvey, a 6’5”, 225-pound rearguard, has spent his first professional season in the East Coast Hockey League, starting with the Orlando Solar Bears and most recently with Wheeling Nailers.
In one game with the Solar Bears, the Orlando, Florida native had no points and five penalty minutes. On Nov. 29 he was acquired by Wheeling in a trade and in 22 games with the Nailers he has recorded five points (three goals, two assists) and 14 penalty minutes.
Before turning pro this season, the 25-year-old played four seasons in the National Collegiate Athletic Association with the Providence College Friars. In 124 career regular season games with Providence, the undrafted defenceman recorded 32 points (eight goals, 24 assists) and 118 penalty minutes.
Hamilton plays on Friday (Jan. 31) in Abbotsford, B.C.
