MVC girls handcuff Bandits for gold


The Mountain Volleyball Club 18U team won the Gold medal at the 18U Girls McGregor Cup – Championship West tournament in Hamilton on the weekend.

Finishing first in pool play, MVC 18U fought it out with the Windsor South County Bandits, 25-14, 23-25, 15-12, and defeated the Waterloo Tigers Black, 25-14, 25-13.

In the quarter-finals, MVC faced the MVC 17U team and moved ahead 25-17, 25-21 and into the semi-finals where they eliminated Ancaster’s Kaizen, 27-25, 25-18.

Determined to finish on top, the MVC 18U team swept the Windsor South County Bandits in straight sets 25-16, 25-15 to win the Gold medal.
